Serotonin syndrome can occur when serotonergic drugs are combined — for example, trazodone with an MAOI, another antidepressant, certain migraine medications, or some supplements. Mild cases may cause agitation, tremor, and diarrhea; severe cases can include high fever, muscle rigidity, and seizures, and require emergency care. Read more on our Serotonin Syndrome page.
